How to move or port my Telkom voice landline to my MarketDirect.co.za VoIP service?

How to move or port my Telkom voice landline to my MarketDirect.co.za VoIP service?

Thank you for your choice in porting your current telephone number(s) to us.

Please note that your account needs to be settled, or Telkom will not release your number.

Once the port request has been accepted, it can take up to 10 working days for your number to be moved over to MarketDirect Business VoIP.

REMEMBER!

If you want to port a landline with an active DSL service, your DSL services will have to be cancelled if you’re going to port a landline number with an active DSL service. This means you will no longer have DSL internet on that landline number. We suggest you get a new VoIP number and keep your DSL services.
What numbers can be ported? Only Geographic South African (starting with 01, 02, 03, 04, 05) and Non‑geographic numbers (starting with 087, 080, 086, 0860, 0861) can be ported to Pure VoIP. Mobile numbers (083, 072 and 061, etc) CAN NOT be ported.
  • Signed copy of the Porting Request Form. Please ensure that all information provided to us (name, address and phone number) on this form EXACTLY matches the information on your current local telephone bill.
  • Copy of ID
  • A paid and up-to-date statement from your landline provider.
  • Proof of payment of your current landline account.

IMPORTANT:

  1. Please DO NOT contact your current service provider to disconnect service, as this will stop the porting process. You must keep the service until the porting process is complete.
  2. Please remember it is your responsibility to disconnect your service with the old service provider AFTER the port has been completed.
  3. Please DO NOT make any changes to your current account with the provider as it could cause complications.
  4. Please ensure that your account balance and any outstanding charges ARE paid off with the current provider or the provider will not release the numbers to us.
  5. Please make sure you DO NOT have DSL services or ALARM systems on ANY of the numbers you request ported. You will lose the DSL service.  Contact the current service provider BEFORE submitting this form wsif you are not sure.  We are not able to check this for you.
  6. Please email over your MOST RECENT local telephone bill with this form. The bill must show your name, billing and service addresses, all telephone numbers you wish to port, and the name of your current telephone provider.
  7. A separate "Porting Request Form" is required for each account if you are moving local numbers from multiple accounts with the same phone service provider or different providers)
